It was a pleasure to have Miles (at 15 days old) come and visit me in the studio.

Prior to his session his mum had asked if we could incorporate Batman into the session.  Well I was thrilled with this request as we are quite a big Batman family.

Julian came and visited me in the studio when he was 9 days new.  His parents had been given a gift voucher for newborn photos at their baby shower.

I was lucky enough to capture Julian smiling on several occasions during his session.

There are lots of things that happen behind the scenes here at Sarah Rickard Photography.

Obviously there are the normal things like: setting up for a session/editing after a session.  But I also make a lot of props - I sew, knit and crochet items to be used in sessions.

I have knitted "basket fillers".

I have made "maternity gowns".

I have made "tulle maternity skirts".

I have made "tie backs".

I thought it would be some fun to share a few actions shots of me - I am definitely not afraid to get wet/dirty etc for a photograph.

I had the pleasure recently to work with Mary from Eclectic Critters (for Collaborate for a Cause).

Mary is based in the Byron hinterland where she designs and produces handcrafted soft toys and t-shirts for both children & adults alike.

Lismore Maternity Photographer | Sarah Rickard Photography

I was thrilled when Kate at 36w 5d pregnant told me she wanted to get into the water during her maternity session with me.  Needless to say, I got wet and sandy for this shoot too.

The maternity session was held at a local beach, with quite strong and cold wind, although the water temperature was surprisingly warm.

I absolutely love how this session turned out, I hope you all agree.

Collaborate for a Cause 2015 | Sarah Rickard Photography

I am very proud to be part of 2 collaborations for Collaborate for a Cause  again this year, being my second year involved.


The aim of ‘Collaborate for a Cause’ is to promote friendship, understanding and fun throughout the Facebook handmade community, while raising important funds for charities.

The 1st event in 2011 raised over $18,000 shared amongst 70 charities. The 2nd event in 2012 raised over $40 000 shared amongst 105 charities. The 3rd event in 2014 raised $49000 and the 4th event in 2014 raised $50 000. Now we're back to do it all again.

How it works:
Each auction lot will be loaded up into the photo album ‘2015 Auction Album’. Each photo depicts all the products included in that lot, along with product descriptions and the details of the charity or community group which has been selected as the beneficiary. The beneficiary will receive 100% of the winning bid value.

Bidding:
Open from 8pm EST Friday 24 July and closes at 8pm EST Sunday 26th July 2015.
